For today lecture class, Mr Choy talk about Postmodernism.
Postmodernism was specifically a reaction against modernism which had dominated art theory and practice since the beginning of the twentieth century.

The term postmodernism is also widely used to describe challenges and changes to to established structures and belief systems that took place in Western society and culture from the 1960s onwards.
Post Modern movements are diverse and disparate.
It connected by certain characteristics : - Ironical and playful treatment of a fragmented subject,
- the breakdown of high and low culture hierarchies,
-undermining of concepts of authenticity snd originality.
Surrealism-
Style which pursues a dream-like state, perceived as "truer" than reality
Pop Art-
Emphasizes kitschy "low art", mass production, and commodification of culture. Warhol is the "Pope of Pop Art". Lowbrow art also known as Pop Surrealism, this democratisation of art originated in California's hot rod and comics cultures.
After the lecture, we were focusing on our assignment 1 for CTX. The lecturer come to us group by group to check what are we working on.
